Water, Water Everywhere

If you saw my last post, you can see all the snow we had! Well the thaw has (finally) arrived and in its wake has brought flooding, burst pipes and clogs!!!
Anyway, i have water but its on short supply..haven't washed my hair in nearly a week! :(

I know with Christmas everyone gets lazy and everything but this week is going so slow and the days are just blurring together. Also I'm a little depressed with my life at the moment!

See i was in college in Dublin, course wasn't what i hoped for but i still gave it a go. Near Easter i really didn't like it and the jobs that i could get out of it, were not appealing at all. So i dropped out. In college at home now and its only a further education college (so not really proper). There is this amazing course i want to do in Dublin, but i don't have the points for it so i have to wait til i can apply as a mature student-23 in Ireland! So I'm really just killing time for the next 3 years..

The course here is Forensic Science. I enjoy it, the little details that you need to get into, the monotonous jobs are really interesting to me. But I'm not looking for a career out of it. The course in Dublin is Ancient History & Archeology with either History or Greek (not sure which one though). I love love love history and especially ancient Greece and the whole mythology behind it. I even bought the Percy Jackson saga because its based on the gods and goddesses of Olympus :D.
Don't get me started on archeology...i would give my first born (if i had one) to go on a dig of any sort!! I was on a site that shows the expeditions that want volunteers, you pay a minimum contribution and that covers your accommodation and anything you need over there....you pay for your flight. Its such a cool site, anyone interested should check it out http://www.earthwatch.org/default.aspx?splash=1
As you can see i like that more than my current course!

Back to my main point, i just miss the freedom i had in Dublin and the anonymity of the city. Here nearly every second person knows me or knows who i am!! For example...yesterday i went to get some shopping for granny, i had a bottle of Gordon's gin (only one she will drink) and had to get cigarettes, This is how the conversation went:
Lady: You're over 18 aren't you??
Me: Yea, I'll just get my ID
Lady: No it's OK, i think i know you...you're Karen's son?
Me: Yea that's me  *Rolls eyes and thinks I have a name yano!!*

That's why i want to go back to Dublin!!
Story of my life in a small town like this, I'm either my mother's son, or my grandfather's grandson (Mam and Granda are kinda well known and respected in the town) Its just like i don't have my own identity!!

Ah that's all my ranting for now folks...there's A LOT more to come but that's for another day, another post!

Live Long and Prosper :)
